APV started!

The Polish, Slovakian and Turkish leaders are right now on their way to Curtea de Arges, after long travels and (some) long break(s) in the airport. We will serve dinner together at Camino hotel, where the leaders will be hosted.

Tomorrow we will have official discussions, we will set up the final aspects of project and together we will visit the places where we will develop activities during project. The time that leaders will spend with the Romanian Group will give the possibility of interaction and cohesion in group.

The leaders will leave Curtea de Arges on Sunday,24th July, but they will be back on 1st August, when the project will start!

So, Basia Kucharczyk, Burcu Yuksel, Radoslav Barcik, you are expected!

In the middle of preparations, before the advanced preparatory visit

Romanian group started and continues the preparation, in order to assure the best development of our project. We had ideas, reviews and meetings and we have the final form of the schedule!

We are ready for the leaders meeting, which will be held in Curtea de Arges, between 22nd -24th of July 2011. The Polish, Slovakian and Turkish leader will have the opportunity to freely express their suggestions on the final shape of activities, set up the rules and make minor changes, where they are considered needed. Direct interaction between the leaders will help and improve the atmosphere during the exchange.

We are enthusiastic to meet (again) the leaders! So, let the project started!

What about Stone AGE ( Actions Guiding Ecology)?

Association of Tourism and Ecology "Călţun"- UNESCO Club from Curtea de Argeş is organizing a project called “Stone A.G.E. (Actions Guiding Ecology)” through the Youth in Action Programme, Action 1.1., between the 1st and the 9th of August 2011 (9 days), gathering 26 participants from 4 countries: Poland,Slovakia, Turkey and Romania. The project will take place in Curtea de Arges and around the Arges Valley.

The theme of our exchange is preserving the historical values of Europe using recyclable materials. The main objectives of our project are: raising the awareness about the importance of preserving our history and the protection of the environment among the youths involved in the project and the people from the local community; presenting and understanding the concept of being a volunteer nowadays, conforming to the main priority of the Youth in Action Programme in 2011 (the year of volunteering); intercultural dialogue; developing tolerance among participants and last, but not least, we will perform actions in order to develop the personality of the participants.

We propose as the main activity multinational workshops in which each group, formed of 6 young people from different countries, will have to reconstruct an important building, using recyclable materials and stones. The final products, consisting in exhibits/theater plays/movies or short videos will be publicly presented to our local community.
